Jen, I will be praying for your daughter and for you. You do sound so depressed. It's frightening when things happen to your children. I'm sure she is in the best hands and is getting good care. You can't do any more than what you have done so the rest is in God's hands.
I know it's easy for me to say but really try taking one day at a time. Don't project you, or your daughter, into the future because no one knows what the future holds. You could be worrying and making yourself sicker over somethings that will never happen. One day at a time. You can handle that.
Start looking for blessings in the tragedy that has occured. There are some, you know. One of my daughters was bitten in the face by a Rottweiler/Pitbull mix and practically ripped half of her face off. She needed over 200 stitches. But, if she hadn't moved quickly, it would have blinded her, tore off her nose, and ripped her lip off. That's a blessing! There are always worse scenerios so try to see the good things that are happening with your daughter. She's at the hospital now and starting to heal. She has good doctors and attentive nursing care. These are a start of blessings for you. Things like this can give you peace and you need that right now.
Try to smile as much as possible. Your daughter will feel better if she sees you smiling. And you know what? You will feel better too. I know this is a tragedy but hopefully you and your daughter will be victorious over this and come out the other side healthy and happy.
Please go see your rheumy. He/She really cares. They wouldn't have chosen the career that they have if they didn't care about people. They might have the key to help you with your pain and that would be wonderful. Your depression should ease as your daughter heals. Right now you are under so much stress.
Again, I'm so terribly sorry this has happened. I never understand why bad things happen to good people. You and your family will be in my prayers.
