I'm 56 and have had fibro for over half of my life, and tendencies like you mentioned as a child. (It's interesting to me that you said you felt better in your 40's - I did, too.) It's intensified over the past few years, with more diffuse pain, the dull throbbing ache every evening allover, even if I do nothing to provoke it. This is in addition to my particular problem areas that won't let me be - I can lift less and less without angering my left sacroiliac and shoulder area.
I have a very good friend who is 91 and she has had fibro for most of her life, too. She's suffering from congestive heart failure and is in Hospice but she still has that good ol' pain so near and dear to all of us.
