Flare from dental surgery?

Hi everyone,

My fibro was starting to come under control over the last 4-6 months. My pain flares were gone, only had muscle soreness, some fog, and sensitivity to smells. Anyway I am doing really well, I have lost 14 pounds since Feb, and now I can walk a few miles at a time. Yay! I have energy and I feel happy. I can even help my hubby with yard work and not get flares from that.

Now, last week I had to be put to sleep for some dental work. I thought I would bounce back pretty quickly but, my fatigue is coming back a little bit, I'm a little more sore and my face and neck is still really "touchy" from surgery. I have had a few headaches and noticed muscle spasms in my arms. (which I have had before) and I also have a little of that "sick" feeling.

This is the first time I have had anything done since I was diagnosed with fibro. Is this normal for fibro to flare or act up with this? I thought since I was doing so well I would be ok. Once you think you have it under control, like I did, it shows up again. I am sure with time I will be ok.

Anyone have their fibro act up like this?

Everytime I have a major procedure or surgery I react horrible. The Dr's just says what happen. Even my organs go crazy. It takes me a lot to recover then most people. I never knew for the longest that this was the fibro causing all these problems after procedures. You should be happy that you can learn from others. I had to learn the long long way around.

I'm scared right now. I have to have the rest of my 6 lower teeth removed next week. I have severe bone loss in my lower jaw and am going to see my pain doctor tomorrow. The surgeon doing the surgery is conacting my pain doctor but I fear the pain more than anything. How do I get my pain doctor to understand the normal amount of pain medication is not working for me right now. My mouth hurts so much I can't even eat or barely talk. I'm 5'4'' and only weigh 105lbs so I also fear that the weight loss is a very big concern. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I've had to postpone other tests because of this happening. I probably sound like I'm not making any sense but everything that is happening to me right now is so overwhelming and it's not like me to not get through things. Thanks for listening because I know everyone on here has their own issues and beleive me when I say I truly feel for all of you.

I agree with applevenus, the dentist needs to know more about fibro. I told my dentist and she acted like she didn't care at all, didn't even say anything about it really. I hope everything goes well for you.
