Never makes for a good morning for me, especially when it seems like my sleepless nights getting kids up at 5 for school, they seem to fight with each other more than when I sleep well. Lol maybe it just feels that way.

Girls, try the supplement l-theanine, it not only seems to relax the mind it helps relax my body. I had to take my regiment of sleep supplements twice last night. The fibro pain was worse than my normal. I was shorted some sleep. I figure my increased trouble came from where we ate lunch yesterday. There was nothing healthy on their menu. Family affair, I had no choice. But I could have misbehaved more...
Hope your day goes well.

You're welcome.
Yes, over the counter more than likely at the health food store or through an online vitamin retail website. I like to purchase my vitamins online and get 40 per cent off the retail price.

Yes, I've been having to take Benedryl too now that I'm off my Nyquil. Hopefully I'll not have to take them when we get the first big freeze.

I have melatonin! Haven't used it. My MRs helped me sleep but hubby to be is on nights and I don't hear the kids with MRs so haven't taken at night in a while... you think melatonin will put me that sound asleep? Sometimes the 4 yr old wakes up with a dream.

I don't get a deeper sleep with it. I just go to sleep faster with it.

I go to the Dr Monday. I don't think I have RLS, but don't know. Sometimes I hurt and I think that causes a form of RLS.

If you're having restless leg syndrome, I heard the best thing for it is not sitting too long.
I use to have RLS symptoms, and I dealt with them by again not sitting too long.
Good luck to you.

Those of you taking melatonin, be careful not to take it regularly more than about
25 days or your body will stop making melatonin naturally...from what I understand from reading about
it.

I've been taking trazadone for the last 8 years or so at night to help me stay asleep. It's the only thing that has worked for me.

Its not a medicine, but sleeping grounded works for me. I sleep through the night now. Plus, I fall asleep within 5 minutes of lying down and wake feeling well rested.

Apple,
I just read what you stated about
taking a long run of melatonin can prevent a person from making melatonin naturally. I can believe it. But I also heard that as we age our bodies produce less melatonin.
I was tried on several sleeping pills and they didn't help me much and they made me feel very groggy the next day. I was relieved to at last find something that put me to sleep and allowed me to stay asleep and I could also repeat the dose during the night if needed. My sleep isn't perfect but at least I'm now able to sleep for several hours. Just to add I have to take L-theanine in combination with the melatonin.

The body regulates it.. senses it...and only produces what is needed...if u take it then it doesnt make it.
and just fyi -your body can become physically addicted to affrin also. happened to my gma-we had big laughs-after dr. diagnosed.
I also have sleepless nights after taking nyquil for a few days...
I take .5 mg xanax about
an hour before bed and another .25mg if still not sleepy. I had 1mg lorazapam before and it worked better. faster. Didnt wak-up groggy. I didnt wake up in relcliner downstairs eating ice cream right out of the bucket with a spoon. That was what ambien did to many. That is a lot of walking and thinking (icecream=freezer+spoon) while in ones sleep.
So in my experience, the lorazepam worked best for me. You have alot of advice and ideas here so I hope you are able to find something that works best for you soon.

Because I have an autoimmune disease too with my fibro I can't take melentonin. It sents me into flares.
I have a very hard time getting to sleep at night. Last night I was up until 5am this morning. I slept until 11:30am and took a 2 hr nap around 2pm.
My sleep doctor told me my clock was messed up and gave me a list of things to do to get enough sleep and go to bed at a normal time.
I'm hoping to be in bed tonight at 11pm. Fingers crossed....
