Hi everyone,
I recently went to my anual visit with my rheumatologist and she is a great, supportive doctor but she tends to prescribe a lot of meds. She gave me some free samples to try so I took them home and took a look at drugs.com. I saw they had ibuprofen in them and I was told recently by my gastronologist not to take ibuprofen any longer.
I called my gastronologist's office. The nurse at the gastro clinic talked to the gastronologist and he suggested if I take them I take them moderately. My rheumatologist didn't share with me how often to take these sample meds and due to my increased pain and fatigue from going to see her I didn't think to ask. So I have a phone call into the rhemy's nurse to see how she wanted me to take them.
What I'm trying to say is be careful of the meds that are prescribed by your doctors. Even though I had let my rheumatologist know right off that I had gerd and I was on a gerd med, my rheumy can't know everything about every condition. She didn't know my gastronologist had told me to no longer take the ibuprofen.
Be your own best detective, the gastrologist nurse agreed, and check into things for yourself before you begin taking them.
