Well, I'm a little late here but am very glad you are alright. If you are allowed, I would take that antibiotic with a meal and that might help the stomach issues...at least until you can see your PC doc. Your pharmacist could let you know if you can do that with that antibiotic. I'm sure you know this, though.
Ahhhh, I had a period several years ago where I would end up in the emergency about once a week. My problem, it turned out, was the blood pressure meds I was taking that I didn't need. Anyway, I encountered a lot of what you are telling us. First of all, my ER wait time was 8 hours until I was taken in to see a doctor....one time was 12 hours. I was having partial bowel obstructions. The people in the ER managed to bring every available family member with them. The people, who were supposed to be so sick, were sending family to the McDonald's to bring burgers and fries to them, the kids were running all over the place like it was party time, and I'm sure they would have brought the family dog if they had been allowed!
I couldn't believe it but that's what happened. First come, first serve...unless you are in critical condition. That's why I don't go to the ER unless it's absolutely necessary.
Anyway, I'm glad you are back home in comfy surroundings and are feeling somewhat better. The peace of mind is worth it.
