How long did it take you to get used to Gabapentin?

I didn't see this thread but I'm on Gaba now. Initially it was Lyrica. My joint pain is usually a 7 but burning can be pretty aggravating. I put myself on 1200mg in morning and 600mg in evening this dose is not recommended but gets me out of bed right now. My Rheummy is not cooperative but my new ins just came in! :( I do have issues with this drug. I will have periods of time where I blank out. Weird but gave someone wrong telephone # one digit off :( the other day I drove past my chiros office because mind drifted off. Little bits of info slip by or I say things w/out realizing. I also have major dizzy spells. Did not notice any of this before. Fibro fog is different. This is def. Drug related very disturbing. This drug is helping immensely though so I am reluctant to go off of it.

I have major tiredness but I am taking a wonderful natural mixture of Valerian root and melatonin sleeping much better at night. Hope u adjust to this drug its been working( minus the issues) plus my chiro does wonders. I also have arthitis bone spurs in neck, and my 2nd tear in disc in lower back. I play and work hard so Gaba is helping me get some of that life back for 1/3 the cost of Lyrica! Hope this helps you this is my 7th month with Fibromyalgia

I was tried on gabapentin for my pain and for sleep and I was asked to slowly increase it. After a week of taking it I had a severe muscle spasm in my thigh that I had never experienced before and it wouldn't go away. I slowly went off the medication and it went away. That was over a year ago and I haven't experienced anything like that since.

My future mother-in-law was put on it and after a few days there were two experiences where her legs gave out and she collapsed to the floor. She was immediately taken off of it and she hasn't had such an experience since. That was a year ago.
