Getting apathetic about housework

I used to pride myself on keeping my house looking neat and tidy, a place for everything and everything in it's place. Now my attitude is... good enough. I watch episodes of hoarders only to make myself feel that my house looks wonderful in comparrison.

I'm hoping Spring brings a renewal of motivation for my home again.

Maybe if I had more energy it would spark the ole homemaker in me. turn Perhaps, I could teach my cats how to swifter up their own hair. yeah

Anyone else wish they had a fair god mother with a magic wand?

Oh my, yes! I want a mini-me that I can call upon at any time, to follow behind me and do my bidding...."this, and then this, just move it across the room and hang it on the wall," or whatever.

If you could only get the cats to somehow think it was their idea, you might be on to something ;) My Tom (who I still miss like anything) used to "clean." He'd open the cabinet under the sink with his paw, pick up a sponge in his mouth, then drop it on the floor and send it skittering this way and that like a hockey puck.

I like "Hoarders" too, probably for the same reason! Except when they do one where there's really gross stuff, like bugs and trash, I can't watch. Ugh!

Oh, I live hoarders! It makes me feel better. My husband hoards boxes and I have OCD so it really drives me crazy. We moved in August and he still has boxes sitting in our dining room. He works a lot so I'm trying to stay patient but I will admit I have thrown things away while he was working. He never has noticed so maybe it won't spark a fight.
He says he's helping my OCD by leaving clutter. Even with the fatigue I can not rest if there's a mess. I'm fortunate that my kids clean up after themselves. They also help with the cats so that just leaves our bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and living room. I try to get this all accomplished before I take my morning shower. It's part of my reward system for myself. I can't sit til it's clean!
Then I sit down to finally relax and stare at my husbands boxes! Then I stretch and do my exercises and stare at my husbands boxes. Lol

My fairy godmother skipped town after she saw my master bedroom!  LOL  That's where everything ends up.  LOL  I am trying to take one room at a time and do a thorough cleaning right now.  I did finish steam cleaning and tomorrow I plan on mopping the tile.  sad    But it will get done.  I just chip away at it and do the best I can.

 

I still have all my gardens to clean up and mulch to lay, too.  smhair   Hmm...I think I'm getting sleepy.  ~ redface yawn~

Yep, that applies here too.

I do have a sign in my kitchen that says..."if you've come to see me~Welcome! If you've come to see my house, make an appointment.". Love that sign! turn

Oh, dear. I cannot watch that show. I have relatives that have this issue (atleast IMO), and it makesme extremely anxious when I go there!

Housework isover-rated. Nobody likes to do it! I plan, when I am living with the gentleman again, to have a cleaner come once a week.

I'm still working on the 'one cleaning project a day' plan, however large or small that may be. Moving, but slowly....


Last week one evening, we were all gone and the house was empty, except for one family member who was upstairs. A close relative with a VERY clean house stopped by and dropped off some things inside the door. EEK!  smhair   smhair smhair That's the messiest room in the house, probably. 

 Oh well, I hope it's understood that I'm chronically behind on my housework, but it does get done (usually) eventually! yeah

My bedroom looks like Horders! I've still got boxes stacked in the corner from my classroom move last year. I've got clothes laying on the back of the chair waiting for me to hang them up or wear them whichever comes first. LOL!
It's time to empty my trashcan and I just brought in a new pack of water bottles for my frig. I'm also working on a painting project and I've got my easel out and paints.
I'm pretty cluttered. :/

I definitely do. I have 3 boys 12,8 and 2. Constant messes I can't keep up with. I use to just throw my headphones on and my house would be spotless in a few hours. Now I'm lucky if I can keep the kitchen and living room straightened up "good enough". I have laundry piled up everywhere. My closet looks like someone tried to rob us. I'm a mess and I wish I could contain my kids.

Sitting in my office now. I realize how much of a mess my desk is! I can find everything but boy, it looks like a bomb exploded.

I'd feel right at home there!  tongue    You just described my computer desk.  With all my HealingWell stuff and genealogy stuff, there is barely room for my keyboard.

My sister will be flying in from Wisconsin to spend a week with us to visit...that will give me some incentive to knock down a couple of cobwebs, lol. She will be here in 2 weeks.

Well it is good to know that my home isn't the only one that isn't dust or clutter free.

I need to get my cats trained like Debbie's Tom. They know how to open doors, now if they would only grab the cleaning supplies.

Friends and neighbors find the house comfortable. I just need to find it comfortable, no matter what. Eventually things get done :)

Rumour has it there's a second couch in my lounge room... I'll believe it when I see it tongue

My house was SPOTLESS when I was on holidays. 4 weeks back at work and it's like someone put all my stuff into a cannon and just randomly fired it throughout the house.

Honestly I just don't care enough to do it. I care when I'm not sore/tired... But when I'm sore/tired it's just not a priority.

I would love to have someone come in to clean the bathroom and kitchen though. I can't stand dirty showers, so I tend to nearly kill myself cleaning it, lol.
