I'm recently diagnosed. I was prescribed Nortriptyline and Flexeril. I already was taking Klonopin, Remeron, Imitrex, and naproxen. The first two are for my anxiety/panic disorder and the other two were for migranes so I don't take them often.

This has been my first week of the nortriptyline and flexeril. So far I'm not in as much pain. I forgot to take it the other night so yesterday I spent the whole day in pain from a headache. But the problem is I can barely function. I can't think, I get really dizzy when I stand up, and today my hands and feet keep falling asleep.

I'm not sure which is worse. Dealing with the pain or taking the medication.

Many people struggle with this. It is an individual choice. Talk with your doctor. Side effects can be bad- Do a cost-benefits analysis (in business speak). Is is worth it?

Yeah. I can see how they become a problem. I know if I contact the doctor they will just say I haven't been on the medication long enough and that the side effects will eventually wear off. But since its new and each week I'm suppose to increase the dose I don't see how I can function.

I forgot to take it one day and I was in horrible pain until I took it and woke up today. But I also can hardly function because of the pills.

Thanks. I hope maybe I can find some other treatment as soon as I can afford it.

Your body will adjust more quickly than you think even with upping doses continually. If the side effects are too much you can speak to your doctor and he may be able to recommend medications with less side effects.
It really is a game of checks and balances. Is the absence of pain worth the dizziness while you adjust? Numbness can be a symptom of fibromyalgia and may not be related to your medications at all. The fibro 101 thread at the top has some great information on things like this.

Doctors do recommend at least a month before stopping. Side Effects do tend to lessen over time as the body adapts.

Flexeril puts me out like a light. Works great, just knocks me out.

I was on klonipin for panic attacks. I slept for the year I was on it. I'd wake up to potty and eat. It was awful.

I'd say those 2 combined are causing your sleep issues, but check with your doc before any changes.

I checked interactions on a website. And between the remeron and the nortriptyline there is severe interaction since they both manipulate serotonin. So adding the Klonopin and the flexeril makes it worse. I'm really suppose to watch serotonin syndrome. I don't know what to do. I've been on remeron and Klonopin for over a year now. I have noticed this fog is really bad. I seriously can't focus or think. I've been dizzy all day. I homeschool my children so something is always in my way.
