The barometric pressure is the main reason for my worst fibro flares. I was diagnosed over 25 years' ago with FM and back then, there was so little information on it. I began to journal my good days and bad and began to realize that when weather changes came in, my pain worsened, and fatigue really increased. At least for me, it's not just rainy days. Weather can go from rainy days to sunny days and I will flare...again, the barometric pressure. Wish I could explain exactly what that is, I have no idea, I just know it does affect how my fibro affects me. I have a dog, she is a rescue, we foster failed three years' ago when she was 8-1/2 years' old, took her in from a high kill shelter and we were told she was fearful/shy. I have never seen a dog with so many fears. Storm phobia is fairly common. She freaks, completely shuts down when it gets cloudy, which completely blew me away, until I realized it's not the clouds, it is the weather coming in, the barometric pressure which she must be feeling which causes her to panic. Worse than that, her panic/stress causes her to get reflux and the reflux, the acid that backs up into her throat, upsets her so much that she tries to soothe herself by eating strange things, like afghans, fibers from rugs...Took me a few months to figure all this out, but now I have her on Chinese herbs from a holistic vet and that has really helped her reflux...she is still fearful of barometric pressure...oops...sorry, I really went off topic here...
