having ovaries removed. help or hurt fibro?

Hi all! So its unavoidable for me. I will be having my ovaries removed next month due to some issues. Im nervous but ready!!

So could I possily feel better or worse without my hormones?? Any advice from anyone?? Thank you

Nancy, I don't think it will make a difference either way. They think fibro is a neurological problem.

Many have had surgery after having fibro...me included...and most didn't have more fibro pain because of that.

Lastly, I had one ovary removed 40 years ago. I didn't have fibro then but it didn't kick in the fibro either.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. You most likely will feel better because you are taking care of your other problem.

Well, having gone through Menopause 5 years ago, I can say it didn't make any difference for me. Not that I can correlate, anyway....

I hope it goes well. Who knows? Maybe you'll feel better!

I actually had a hysterectomy & my ovaries removed in 1999 for Endometriosis. Didn't develop Fibro symptoms until 2012.

I had a complete hysterectomy including ovaries in 2005 and was diagnosed in 2013 with fibro. All I can say is that after my hysterectomy I felt better.I had been suffering with ovarian cysts for 10 years prior to surgery.

Thanks guys. I have the worst. Emotional symptoms out there. Like pms to the extreme. Thats just one symptom we are hoping to control once things calm down after the surgery. Inalso hate tp say iy but im hoping my libido wont go down much eyes I would hate to have that happen and it worries me a little
