This can NOT be fibro!!! Please HELP me!!!

I am wondering if these symptoms are from Fibro- muscle weakness when walking up stairs (avoid stairs!)

                                                                         blurred vision

                                                                         numb lips, numb fingers

                                                                         extreme exhaustion-tho get good sleep

                                                                         trouble emptying bladder & starting flow

                                                                         vibrating in chest-like cell phone

                                                                         electric shock in  lower back

Welcome to the Fibro Forum. You sound very worried, and first off, let me ease your mind - Fibro is not progressive, or fatal (though it surely is a pain, especially before you learn ways to cope with it.) And you are not alone. We do understand! Most of us have gone through years of hashing out just what's happening with our bodies - blood tests, other tests....a good doctor will rule out some other conditions before they decide it's Fibro.

What you're describing could all be caused by Fibro - the symptoms vary a lot from person to person. Take a look at our first thread, "Fibro 101." There are links to 1) a list of possible symptoms, 2) other, similar conditions, and ones that commonly occur simultaneously, 3) what top doctors currently think is going on with us, 4) treatments, and lots more.

Do you have a back problem like pinched nerve ot slipped disk?
This can affect your bladder and the electric shock you're feeling.
Ask your doctor to check you for this.

Everything else sound just like fibro to me.

Hi and welcome!! I was recently diagnosed with fibro after searching for answers for over eight years. While it is a scary thing to not know what is going on with your body, once a diagnosis is made, it's at least nice to know what you are dealing with. Do read the fibro 101 info as there is very useful stuff there. Good luck, hun!!

Hi sueg:  Just got out of bed and thought I would pop in here, so I hope I'm awake enough to make sense! cool

I've experienced nearly all you list, though I've had no bladder problems.  I know others have had that, though.

One thing about blurred vision:  I believe others with fibro have had that, but I would suggest possibly checking it with an optometrist.  My husband's left eye was blurry about a month ago, and it turned out to be a detached retina, so it's one of those things it's wise to have checked out ASAP.

Also, I used to list my symptoms (the more unusual ones) and discuss them with my doctor.  It really relieved my mind and I felt so much better.  Fibro is just plain weird sometimes!! yeah
