My new kitten came home with me today. I named him Cuddles because he loves to cuddle. Right now he's curled up on my chest sound asleep. tongue
The only downside to this is he likes to sleep with his butt in my face. The shelter's food is rough on his belly and gave him toxic gas! rolleyes

My niece's cat doesn't like him too much. He's hiding under her bed and hisses at him.

I'm going to buy him a calming collar tomorrow or some valium for him or me. smilewinkgrin

Awww I bet he's adorable. I dunno why cats always want to stick their butts in our faces but one of my two tries it at least daily lol. Good luck with getting the niece's kitty used to the baby, I know it's different with each cat but things tend to calm down faster when one is a baby.

Hope the cats calm down and get used to each other...also sure hope the fumes calm down : ( ... : )

I love cats they are fun...we. Had a girl..no butt in the face lol..is that a boy cat thing? Anyway i know you have been looking forward to having one again...so enjoy.. Its easy to love them ...ours would snuggle up to the exact spot we had pain..she could always sense it..and was our living heating pad : )

Cuddles is a boy. He's pure white, pink ears, and golden eyes. He's a little sweetheart and loves to sleep on my chest. I will have to do something about his claws though, they are like little hypos and hurt. He's only scratched me once by accident when he was climbing up my chair. He loves to be carried around and follows me everywhere.

He's already stolen my family's heart.

Aw, happy for you! And glad the family loves him, too. He sounds adorable.

One of my daughter's cats sleeps on a pillow just above her head - she always ends up half ON her head. The other one is smack against her knees, so she really can't move. I have no idea how she gets any sleep at all, but I know she doesn't get enough. She is so whipped on those cats - not that I blame her (just a teensy bit guilty of that myself, when I had my Tom.)

I hope you're not thinking of getting Cuddles declawed? That's really so hard on them.

Wonder if that product they put on claws to make them less destructive works ? Its only for indoor cats....my daughters cat is so hard on furniture

When our cat sticks its butt in one of our faces, we say he is "giving us the raisin!" LOL

Kittens are soooo fun, Crazy balls of energy and love. It sounds like this one is going to be a lap cat Joy, which are the best!!!! Funny how cats have their own personalities. Just like people. Enjoy cuddles!!

My daughters cat mimicked my daughter to a t ...she adopted my daughters loving ways...

Ok whose cats can get words out? She could mimick certain words we used often to her...

Cat topics are so much more fun than fibro, pretty soon they will have their own thread : )

I have not posted for a long while on here, but loved reading about your new sweetie. He sounds incredible.

Do you have a scratching post that your other cat can share with kitty? You probably know this already, but if at times he still uses something he shouldn't to scratch,you can redirect him by saying "No" in a loud firm voice and then taking him to the post and setting him down by it to use. You can even show him by scratching it yourself. lol!

I'm sure you are an amazing furbaby mama! It is going to be so much fun!

Someone mentioned about declawing being hard on cats. I have seen that some cat organizations are trying to get declawing banned because of how it affects cats. What I read said that it is actually considered to be a part of the cats finger that gets removed. I wouldn't think you'd need to go that route as you and your kitty are bonding and you will likely know a lot instinctively how to help your little guy know what is and isn't okay with his claws. I find they learn over time how to be gentle and not to have their claws out when they shouldn't. I also read that if you are playing or something and they scratch you hard, to make a high pitched shriek - that is what cats do when they try to tell the other cat that it is playing too rough. Helps them get the message.

I'm so glad you got another fur baby. No worries, the kitties will eventually become accustomed to each other...and as far as the baby's hiney in your face, well, it's unconditional love! :) :) :)
