Steriods don't affect fibro symptoms. You sound like you have a type of inflammation going on.
Have you seen a rheumatologist for autoimmune testing?

How weird. Just tonight, my jaw was twitching, especially when I was talking and eating. I even asked my family if they'd noticed it (they hadn't.) It's not the first time, but it kept happening tonight, and really bugged me. I was planning to come on here and ask if anyone else had this happen!

It almost felt like the kind of shivers you get when you're really cold, but I wasn't. I'd open my mouth to talk and my jaw would fall farther down.

Is this what you're talking about? I wish I had an answer for you, but at least know that you're not alone.

Sigh...yeah...sometimes that's the best you can get.

If I remember correctly, I can't take Reglan because of side effects. I am taking Omeprazole for the stomach issues (40 mg 2x a day). I am on the high dose because the doctor is afraid that when I take steroids, it could weaken the lining of my "stomach" and cause an ulcer to form, but I have been on this for years. I am on too many meds, honestly (I was thinking of talking to my neuro - who might be giving me Botox injections for my headache - and seeing if I can get off of some of my meds for migraines. I would love to just take a few pills a day.

Honestly, I am wondering if this is a medication issue. The only new medicines I have started lately are Salagan, a diuretic and Abilify. Both were started before the twitching/jerking started, so that makes it fishy in my book. I am suspicious of the Abilify because I am also on Wellbutrin, which can lower the seizure threshold. Abilify (in combination with the Wellbutrin) makes the concentration of the Wellbutrin higher in my body. I ma already of 150mg 3x a day, which am told is the max. If Abilify increases the concentration, then wouldn't that mean that I am getting too much Wellbutrin? Even with that, since his started before the Abilify, that would seem to knock it out... but I am still suspicious.

I am going to look at Tarvec Dystonia and see what it is...

It makes my bottom lip buzz. It does help the depression though.

I should correct something above - the twitching and jerking started one week before I started the Abilify, not after it. The Abilify was the first one I started taking out of the three.

I didn't remember that it caused Osteoporosis. I am not sure why, but they specifically want it to be a proton pump inhibitor. I am thinking it is because of the bariatric surgery and my stomach basically not being in use (except for a small portion of the top - maybe it wants to make sure that that pouch is not making too much acid).

Anyway, I am on calcium and vit D, so I hope that they fends off any possibility of my bones weakening. Osteoporosis does run in my family, so I would have to take those two vitamins anyway.

You need to add magnesium since this is needed to help absorb the calcium and D3. I use magnesium malate since it's easily absorbed and easy on the digestive system. Do talk to your doctor first, though, because of your surgery.
