Stressed Out!

Saturday afternoon my father started to complain of chest pains. We called 911 right away and followed the ambulance to the hospital 40 miles away.
We sat in the ER for six hours as they ran tests for heart problems. They managed to calm the angina pains down and find him a room to stay in for observation and further testing. My mother and I drove home late that night.

Sunday we came back and stayed 8 hours with my father. I sat for the time in a very hard folding chair. Back home that night, still not knowing test results.

Today got a phone call at 6 am they were going to take him in for a heart catharization. We rush back to the hospital in morning rush hour traffic. We arrive just in time to kiss him before going into surgery. We had to sit back in his room on hard chairs again until he came out. Found out he got his 7th stent. I'm home again for the night.

He's doing great, but the stress and hard chairs has done me in.

Tomorrow we are going back to see if he's coming home. I also have a doctor's appointment at 12 in the same town.

I'm so sore and tired.....

I am very sorry to hear about your father. Horrible spits to sit in do not add to it. We carry a couple of support pillows in the car, but you can't always drag what I call my "accessories" with you. I hope you have the chance to grab a hot bath or something soon to ease the discomfort.

In the meantime, let us know how things go. I will have my fingers crossed for you.

My father came home today. 😆

I've got to be the family driver for awhile. My niece let her driver's license expire so I'm taking her tomorrow to the DMV. Then I'm off to see my rheumatologist in the afternoon. I'll have a nice flare for him to see.

Thursday I'm driving my father to the VA in Augusta (2 hrs drive one way). Friday I drive mom to her doctor.

Today I'm crashing. Just babying myself and relaxing with my feet up.😩

Wow, Joy! I'm so glad your father was taken care of quickly and is doing fine now. That has to take a load off your mind.

Just try to relax. Put some pillows behind your back in the car to make it more comfortable and take one day at a time. Your days should get better.

Joy, I'm so sorry for all the the health issues your family is dealing w/ right now.

So glad to hear your DF was well enough to come home. That is great news!!

Hopefully, your niece can get her DL renewed quickly, so she can help out w/ all the appts. That's a lot of dr visits for sure!!

I'm glad you took today to rest, you certainly needed it. I will second Sherrine's idea of pillows in the car. I bought 2 bed pillows just for the car. I put on pillowcases and put 1 behind my back & 1 under me. It is the only relief I get in the car.

I hope your visit to the rheumy can help w/ your pain. Those hospital chairs are just brutal! I think of them as a slat of wood w/ a piece of material over them. A form of pure torture.

I'm so sorry. I hope things get better soon! Try to use a heating pad to help with the soreness and take some time to relax as soon as you can.

After a full day at the VA I'm bushed. Tomorrow is my mother's turn to the doctor. Thank goodness it's just a forty minute drive.

My father is enjoying hearing things better. He discovered that he whistles through his dentures when he talks. 😆
