Sorry to hear this. My boss was like that too.

He expected me to be able to handle everything exactly the way I was before I got sick. In the end I was "laid-off" due to cut backs.

I am really sorry to hear about your boss. It is my experience that unless one has a pain syndrome they can't understand it. Hopefully we fet empathy from others, but, I don't count on it. I spent years in university in order to be my own boss only to get several other pain issues that have knocked my plan to the ground. Back to basic wellness planning while studying how to put together a manageable self owned business; I will still use my studies and help others be thier own best advocate.
I keep learning that my life is a constant mystery with hidden gifts and challenges. Find your way to use your skills in a way that accommodates, you.

My boss was the same way. I was really disappointed because I thought that I would be treated better. I gave a lot to the job and worked very hard. In the end it didn't matter to the boss. He just wanted things to get done at the same level as always and wouldn't grant me accommodations to work around my illness.

Where I live the law states that companies are required to accommodate employees for medical reasons, including changing the work environment and scheduling. However, if a company doesn't do this there are little to no resources for the employee to have the law enforced. I live in an area where suing is not an option.

I feel for you and I know you must be disappointed and hurt by this. I wound up doing contract work from home part time because I couldn't continue with my full time job. I hope you have or can create some options for yourself. Keep us posted.
