Hi,Malcolm, and welcome! A lot of what you mentioned can certainly be caused from anxiety but some could be Fibro also. Fibro is not considered an inflammatory illness so even though you don't have inflammation in your body, you could still have Fibro. People with Fibro have pain in all four quadrants of the body, have fatigue, and also usually have cognitive memory problems. This usually is the criteria for diagnosing Fibro...after all other bloodwork is taken to rule out other illnesses that have many of the same symptoms as Fibro...things like lupus and Lyme disease. Sleep problems are another issue of Fibro.
I think it would be good for you to find a good board certified rheumatologists who treats Fibro patients. Ask first since there are still some doctors who don't velieve fibro is a true illness. A good rheumy will run all the necessary tests to rule out other illnesses if they suspect something besides anxiety is playing into this.
As far as your eye goes, you are staring at a computer a lot and my eyes get red and very tired too when I do this. But, some people with Fibro do have sensitivity to light. Also, if I read too much, my vision becomes a little blurry...and that's not from Fibro.
Do read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are good links about Fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links for you would be Symptoms. What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. These will give you a better idea about Fibro and you can see if it is a possibility in your case. Of course a good doctor is the best way to find out what is going on with you.
Deficiency in magnesium and also vitamin D can cause more pain too. I take magnesium malate and vitamin D3 to help with that. There are links about these and how they work in the body in Fibro 101.
I did suffer from anxiety for years and it is amazing the health issues I did take on. So do try not to worry and focus on things other than your health. You just might find that you feel better.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
