Hello, I'm new here too. I had the EMG too and I believe it was to find muscle and nerve damage as DianeB stated. I had and have pretty severe Restless Leg and they were testing for that as well. I would think if your levels are high that it would mean you have good muscle and nerve control. I'm no expert by any means, but I think usually if you have a low score, your nervous system isn't working well, because you are not feeling the jolt or your muscles are not responding as they should. I was diagnosed in 2006 and was a lucky one, it only took Drs two years to figure it out. I had a lot of depression and anxiety issues waiting to find out why I was in pain all the time.
