Hi,

I have been giving the opportunity to try a infra-red sauna. I business in my town just bought one and is lokking for someone to test it out . They say it is wonderful for Fibro so the asked it I would try it for a while and then let them know if it helps. If it helps they would like me to recommend it to my Fibro Group. I am wondering is any one here has tried one. IF so did you notice any difference in your pain.

I have never heard of this. I did some checking and there are claims that it can help but no proof. It probably would feel good at the time, though, because most of us feel better in heat. BUT it will cause you to sweat a lot so you do need to be careful of dehydration and possibly skin problems.

If it were me, I'd wait until they are up and running. If this is so good, why are they looking for someone to "test it out"? I know I won't be a guinea pig and I would feel better if others tested it out for a while....just to make sure, at the least, their equipment is operating properly.

Hello. We have an infra-red sauna. I used to use it just about everyday. It is very relaxing and soothing especially on a cold winter day but I can't say that it helped with my fibro pain. Maybe though it would be helpful to you. Just be careful of the temperatures which should be adjustable. If you are someone who has trouble with the heat from a shower or bath (we had a thread about that not too long ago) I would steer clear of it. Otherwise I would give it a try and see what happens. You may also want to run the idea past your doctor just in case. Good luck, Lisa
