i ACHE ALL THE TIME LIKE I HAVE A FEVER BUT DO NOT.I HAVE NERVE PROBLEMS IN LEG AND TINGLE OTHER PLACES GET VARIOUS PAINS& MIGRAINES THE DR SAID SOUNDS LIKE FIBROMYALGIA SYM. OTHER TIMES THEY ACT LIKE I'M CRAZY. I WANT TO NOT FEEL BAD ALL THE TIME. BUT IM ALSO ON PREDNISONE FOR SEVERE ASTHMA. STARTED LOOKING AT FIBRO SITES AND IT SOUNDS LIKE ME.

Hi MyselfandI,

Welcome to the HealingWell Fibromyalgia forum. I am so glad that you have joined us. It is hard when we don't have a diagnosis, and they act like it is all in our heads. I tell them yes, it is in my head, my shoulders, back, legs etc.... lol...

Check out the fibro101 thread. It is the first on the forum. There is a lot of interesting stuff there to take in. You will find a thread called "what else could it be?" That might help you some. Also there is one on the symptoms. I am sure that will help you too. Read old posts too and you will find similarities in what you are going through. I hope that you get a dx soon. Keep posting, this is a really good site with wonderful caring members.

Hi myselfandi, and welcome to our fibro family, as Karen said we have alot of great people here who understand what you are going through. Make sure you have all the other things ruled out before letting them diagnose you with fibro. We are here for you and if you have questions, need to vent about something, or want to offer advice to others it is always appreciated.

Hi, MyselfandI, and welcome!  I'm glad you found us and joined in.  I hope your doctor will run a battery of tests to rule out other illnesses.  Many of the symptoms of fibro are like those of other illnesses that can be treated appropriately.  You do want to be sure.  Karen suggested you read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum...and to check out the link to symptoms and also the link called What Else Could It Be.  That is great advice!  You will see why it's important to have everything ruled out first.

 

Also, could you please not type in all capitals?  It's considered "yelling"!  I didn't know that until I started coming to the forum.  But the main reason not to use all caps is because it's much more difficult to read.  Thanks!

Thanks, wasn't trying to yell even if I feel like it. I've had MRI's, blood work, lumbar puncture, CTs, colonoscopy and endoscopy.
Didn't mention have GERD, diverticulosis, and said maybe I have IBS. I keep having recurring UTI''s also. Been in the hospital last year for 3 days getting IV like migranal for migraine that could not get rid of. My muscles ache and its all I can do to get through the day. Not fair to my kids!

If you have had an opportunity to check out Fibro 101, you will see that UTI's and IBS are some problems that people with fibro have.  I have Crohn's disease and several other "goodies" too.  We just have to learn how to work around what Life dishes out to us. 

 

No, it's not fair but you can still have a wonderful life.  I know I have so far.  I thought my children were "suffering" because of my illnesses, too, but they weren't!  I couldn't do a lot with my children because the Crohn's had me "chained" to the bathroom.  No picnics, walks in the park...no anything that wasn't close to a bathroom!  Then, when they were preteens, the fibro hit.  Ouch!  I tormented myself for years over the fact that I couldn't do the same things other Moms were doing with their children.  My children are all adults now and a few years ago I finally broke down and cried and told them how sorry I was that I couldn't be a better Mom.  Well...they looked stunned!  They said I was the best mother of any of their friends.  I was always there for them, I helped them with a lot of things, we always had good family meals together, etc.  So, try not to worry about that.  I'm sure you are a terrific Mom!

 

I knew you weren't yelling, too!  I didn't realize that's what it meant until I started going on the forum and saw it in the forum rules.  Yes, I think we all want to let out a huge yell every once in a while.  It probably would be very good for us! turn

 

Just take one day at a time and things do manage to work out.  You can have a full and enjoyable life in spite of all of this!  Aim for that goal and you will achieve it!

Thanks for the encouragement and to those who responded.I've been a stay at home mom and have always tried to play and do things with the kids. I did so much more with my oldest child than with my seven year old. Migraines and asthma got severe when she was a baby.

I haven't been diagnosed but your symptoms and the sites like Fibro 101 sound familiar. I live in a small town. Drs. are limited and they make me feel crazy. I have a great asthma dr. He sent me to Denver hospital specializing in lung diseases to make sure wasn't something mimicking asthma. I'm on low dose prednisone but had some other symptoms before. Its hard to know what is causing what.
Do Aches and muscles knotted up,pain under and in lower left ribs, migraines, feet swelling& redness,double vision, trouble sleeping& sleepwalking, tingling, odd bladder sensations, itching for no reason, diarrhea/constipation, tiredness, depression & anxiety sound like anything anyone is experiencing?

If you live near Denver, you probably have a teaching hospital near you.  The doctors there would be quite good and you could be checked out there and see what really is going on with you.  Guessing what you have isn't a good idea. 

 

Here are a couple of links that might help you find a doctor.  The first link is for doctors that believe in fibromyalgia and the second link is to teaching hospitals.  These links are in Fibro 101.  You should be able to find a doctor somewhat close to you using these links.

Oh my-I have been looking at Fibro sites as well & have talked with a woman who has been dignosed & she swears I suffer with it. I tried to tell my OB as I am 36 weeks pregnant & they just act like it's all normal but this has been going on for more than a couple of years. It's just so much worse since I've been pregnant & it's made me so irritable, depressed & hopeless. I'm afraid to say anything to a doctor because I feel like I'm just being dismissed. I don't know what to do. I can't even move around to do any housework & grocery shopping is horrendous. I just cry. I don't know how to get help for this or even find someone that will believe me & try to help me.

Hi kmccann, welcome to our fibro family, there is a link in fibro101 to Drs. that treat fibro. You might want to check it out and see if there is a Dr. in your area. Fibro 101 is at the top of the fibro forum and it is a list of links with alot of information that our moderator Sherrine has compiled for us. Once again welcome and feel free to ask questions, vent when you need too or offer advice to others hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry you feel so awful also km. I know it has to worse being pregnant.
I flew to Denver. My asthma Dr. wanted me to go there for tests. I'm in SC.
I would say I'm not trying to diagnose myself but I'm the one who feels bad all the time without an answer.. Just frustrated from feeling bad and with every test that comes back normal, I feel like everyone thinks I'm either lazy or crazy. Just wanted to see if this could be it.

Thank you sotired & myself- I am doing more research on Fibro & so far what I've come up with is that I need to get in to see a Rheumatologist. I'll keep you all posted. ((((gentle)))) to all who suffer cry
