I have heel pain for almost a year, I am the same way when I get up in the a m or sit for awhile. My Dr. told me it was facititis but I guess it could be part of FM. Mine started after wanting to get some exercise and started walking, I had good sneakers on but not walkers and seems to have started the problem. My Dr. told me to get running sneakers and they really help, I bought nikes but just bought reeboks a month ago and they are much better. seems to have more heel cushioning.
When I walked too long as shopping in the mall my heels would start hurting than but with the reeboks I am fine until I sit for awhile.Embarrasing if you are out to dinner and go to get up, you don't know how to take tht first step because you know it will hurt. I do exercises every night and ice my heels beforehand, see no help with this. I have fm for 30 years and just started with heel pain in the last year., but this disease is so strange you never know what it will do.I was told the fat pad in your heels moves to the sides and you have no cushioning to step on, feels to me like i am walking on the bone.
Hugs, Linda
