rash on outer shins

I have had a rash on outer side shins 2" x  6" patches now; left shin 1 yr ; rt shin 2 years. Intollerable itching, episodic unless I

inadvertently scratch the defoliating scabby mantle. Has a drawing pain and deep stinging as well episodically, with no term of predictability.                                                         

Several dime size patches recently appeared low lleft ankle. Becomes more symptomatic when sitting or especially lying down.

If I were to give in and scratch the itch intensity goes off the richter scale. When the pseudo healing mantle get rubbed off it bleeds; just a smear bleed. Nothing has worked so far and I will never give in to steroids. Looking for a natural heal solution, homeopaethy, homeography, energy medicine; something that treats the person notemporarily

mask the symptoms and worsen/complicate the clinical picture further.  H E L P<  PLEASE scool

Isn't this more a sort of eczema?

I am sorry, I am confused--Do you suspect fibro, or have it in conjunction with this?

I would have a dermatologist look at it...he would be able to prescribe some ointment to help.

I have lesions and rashes at times but mine do not itch and they are related to my MCTD.

I agree, there's got to be something that could help you. It sounds awful.

Steroids, on a short-term basis, have helped me quite a bit with skin problems - but if you take that option off the table, I really have no idea.

My own opinion is that sometimes, you have to weigh the "unnaturalness" of a treatment against the stress your whole system is bearing by continuing to have the pain/itching/discomfort for so long (you said you've had this for 2 years?!)

You need to get tested for an autoimmune disease. Ask your doctor to check your ANA.
