Sherrine, oh no, it's not saying that at all. Actually, alot of the things we do, he suggests. Swimming, walking, relaxation. Tolerating cold weather, getting enough sleep to restore the body, diet. He says there is no Fibro diet, but suggests challenging foods to see what effects you because fibro can increase sensitivity. He explains illnesses that Fibro can mimic, and what is common to have along with it. He talks about
different possible causes/triggers like ptsd, physical trauma, stress and how it impacts the body. He talks about
the central nervous system and how it reacts and behaves....different hormones and balancing things like dopamine.
He talks about
medicines, meditation, therapies and exercise. And he describes the symptoms in a way that friends and family can understand.
He makes no promise of a cure....more like, excellent guidance to understanding and methods to manage the pain and symptoms. Oh, and supplements, too. Seriously, it's worth reading...at least for people like me, who are new to fibro.
I was curious what others thought, though. But yes, he offers theories, too. For me, the entire book was dead on! Crazy.
