Went to a new doc a week ago (rheumy) and she didn't even do much of an exam. She increased my Lyrica, which is ultimately what i wanted (pain is down so much i am thrilled).
When I asked her what my diagnosis was, she said "well, lots of nerve pain (ok knew that)". I then asked whether I had fibro, and she says "well, there's some of that mixed in" What????? How does that work?
I have been finding a REALLY tough time finding a doc who treats fibro around here…it's like they are scared of it, like it's the plague or something. Anyone else having that problem? Is it insurance related? I was referred to 3 docs, 2 said they don't treat fibro "anymore", and the 3rd said it would be nearly 6 months to get a new patient appt, so I should see his partner (who just came to the practice), so I saw the new doc….he was awful. 1st appt, he said fibro, did blood work, hand x-rays, etc, showed NO inflammation, etc. Second appt, he decides it's totally different and it's inflammation in the tendons in my hands??? With no testing at all. And changed meds.
Not going back. What about the new doc though? thoughts?
Thanks,
Sunny
