I googled air controlled weights and absolutely nothing came up! That never happens with Google. So I can't help you there.
I would see if they will allow you to pay as you go since you have fibro and am not sure if this will negatively affect you. If they say no, I wouldn't do it.
We have LifeStyle Fitness down here and my son, when visiting, can go to their gym and pay by the hour. He has no membership. They have people to help you, too.
You might want to start out by lifting food cans. A large can would be a good start. Then you could put two large cans in a shopping bag and try that. When I buy potatoes, I will buy two five pound bags and lifting them has become easy. You could do arm curls while grasping a couple of bags of potatoes. This would give you some idea how your body will react.
Medical sites suggest walking, swimming, and yoga as good forms of exercise for fibro. I do walking and swimming. When walking I will sometimes bend my knees slightly and I can feel the muscles in my legs being worked out. There are bands you can use to strengthen arm muscles, etc.
I hope I have given you a few ideas that don't cost much, if anything at all, to help strengthen your body. I try not to lift anything over twenty pounds.
