I've had Fibromyalgia for years, but have mostly had it under control with food and exercise. Sometimes with some pain medication. Never anything I considered more than a minor annoyance. (Yes, I've been very fortunate.)
Anyway, almost 2 weeks ago I had to sleep on a folding cot under stressful conditions. I do this once a year for 3-4 days (visiting ancient father). Usually my back recovers in 3-5 days and I have no longer term issues.
This time it's kicked off a huge bout of fibromyalgia symptoms - everything seems to hurt. That part is manageable. What's bothering me is this...
My erector spinae muscles just won't stop spasming!!! Everything helps for 3-4 hours, then bam! By everything, I mean massage, ice, heat, hot shower, massage, chiropractor, physical therapy, stretching, pain medication, moving, not moving... I'm not sure what else to try. I have no idea if this is related to fibromyalgia or not? Suggestions welcomed.
PS. I did just locate a 2 year old bottle of Flexeril, which I will try in the morning. Does it help fibro? I seem to recall that I still have them because they didn't help this issue previously, but at this point I'm willing to try anyway.
