Hi, Kate and Reading Teacher and welcome! We all wish we could do some of the things we used to do but life is still good! I find ways of working around fibro to do what I want to do. I don’t let “life” get in the way of my enjoyment. Because of chronic pain and other problems, I have had to slow down a bit but that has been a blessing for me. I notice the beauty all around me and can still enjoy life in spite of this illness.
I’m a big proponent of positive thinking. It has helped me so much in my life. It also makes me happier and I enjoy things more. I have quite a few illnesses, as most of us do, but I find it amazing that we can reorganize things to work in our favor. I don’t look at my limitations as “limitations”. They are challenges to me to overcome. Besides my chronic pain, my severe hearing loss is a huge challenge. But, I’m great at lip reading now and my doctors are amazed.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you can find things to help with this illness. One of the links is how to maintain a positive attitude when you have chronic pain. It’s really quite helpful.
I’m looking forward to getting to know both of you more. Don’t hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
