Shands/Gainesville-Mon.-Pulmanory Dept.-Had to take Pulmanary test.Sat in a booth doing diffrent breathing test then went to see the Dr. He studied my records and results of test and said I had Hepatopulmonary syndrom same thing as low blood O2 which we already knew. I've been on O2 for about
6 weeks already. The only treatment is a liver transplant so he turned me back over to the hepatologist. Stomach is getting more bloated. I look like I'm prego. It's very uncomfortable and trying to get in a comfortable position is near impossible. O2 is still low 86% but that's better than 66%.
Wed.-Liver Transplant Center-Doc was great, spent over an hour with me answering all my questions. She explained Xifaxan to me and said I needed to keep taking it,and why. Blood test were back. Some high some low but I don't know how to interpret them. Meld score is 11 but because of the pulmanary problems that puts me higher than 11 and now that the nicotine is out of my system she said we start the Liver evaluation next month. Things seem to finally be moving forward. I have ascites and after we were done she sent me to the hospital to get it drained but when they did the sonogram the Dr. said there was fluid but he couldn't find a "clean window" (whatever that is) to put the needle in. I've never had ascites before so I really didn't know what was going on or what to expect. Because they couldn't drain it they doubled my spironolactone hoping that will get rid of some of the fluid. Well that's my update thanks for being there.
