The girl has chronic Hepatitis B, but no hepatitis left in the blood, what now?

Hello.

A girl i really like was born with chronical hepatitis b.
As many of you know these people test themselves with blood test
every year at their doctor, and she has always been very low infectious.

I have talked to her doctor and to her parents and they both tell me not to worry.

The last years her tests has shown that she doesnt have the hepatitis B in her blood anymore,
but that her children still can be born with it.


What I wonder now, what risks am I taking, being with here?
Me myself got vaccinated and tested (had nothing) for hepatitis B at the doctor a year ago,
followed by 2 more vaccinations.

I wear a condom during sex, but it happens that she has given me oral sex without the condom.

What I wonder in this situation what risk I am putting myself in?
I dont wanna have to dump this girl to be safe myself, cause I really like her.

What to do?

Mark, We have members who have Hep.C or loved ones with husbands who have it, and none that I'm aware of have ever passed it or wives developed the disease. Some of these people have been married or had relationships over the course of over 25+ years. I'll let them speak to that issue. Most are generally around a couple hours from now. I don't believe oral sex is gonna be a problem unless you/she do something blatantly wrong. opens wounds and menstrual cycles are thing I'd be concerned about. Good you found someone you care about enough to weigh the options. To me it says something about your character.

  markymark hi,  your doing the right thing.  yes, chronic hep b can be a very mild course if certain blood tests confirm.  i would want to see her latest blood work to confirm.  the key words here are low infectivity.  it can still be passed on. if hbsag is +, and hbeag is-, you have a mild chronic course.  you had 3 hep b vaccinations.  you now need to know if you have acquired anti bodies to hep b.  hep b series is not even close to being 100% for adults.  you need to talk with her dr. be safe

i should also add, that if she is hbsag - and hbsab is +, then she has cleared the virus

I have talked to her doctor, and I will also come at her next checkup (comes in 2 months)
Her doctor says that her latest blood tests has shown that she doesnt have it in her blood anymore,
and I will go see the doctor at the hospital next time she goes there, or earlier.

Her doctor has told me that unprotected oralsex (when she gives me) is considered safe because of her very low, or non existent infection level.

The doctor told me that I know could feel safe, but that I also can come to the next checkup just to confirm even more.

thanks ml, i didnt pickup on the fact she was born with it. you had 3 hep b vaccinations. did the dr check for immunity to see if your vaccinations worked.

hello.

from what i remember the doctor confirmed that.
i Will go and make a New checkup next Week
but 99% Sure the doctor confirmed that.

i am not having unprotected vaginal sex with her,
only thing that has happened is passive oral sex.

i have gotten answered by the doctor that Its
seem to be without risk due to her Low infection rate.

she asked her doctor if she Was infectious
through oral sex and the doc. Said that she is not
infectious through kisses or salive or oral sex due
to the fact that she has very very low amount of the
virus in her blood, next to unexistent.

she has not recieved any treatment for her hepatitis b
due to the fact That she has always had such very very small
amount of it in her blood Was very low already many years ago
and the value of the virus in the blood is getting even smaller
for Every year.

i suffer from heavy paranoia so this is very difficult for Me, this has nearly gotten Me killed. i suffer from heavy paranoia.

ask the dr to test for anti -hbs. if it is + you are immune. that should ease your mind. also ask her dr any questions you have concerning transmission. best to you
