Alex, How is Dad doing today? And Mom ; )
You all must be happy to have some time out of the hospital right now. I know you have a hill to climb getting him dual listed, but I can see you are strong and will get through this. Thinking of you guys, Big Hugs

Dad is doing OK. He is just happy to be back home. He is eating better now that he has had over 8L of fluid drained.
The edema is back since he is up and walking around, but he tries to rest a lot to help out. My mom is the one that is exhausted. She gets out of work and cooks, cleans cares for my dad and still has to accommodate visitors coming late in the evening. So she is in need of some rest. But just having my dad home has given her so much energy.
I still have not heard back for a date on visiting Iowa but they did say they had requested the medical records and will review them. Hope it moves quickly.

Thanks sandia!
It's nice going home after work and not to the hospital all night to see my dad depressed. Just being home he is smiling. He also says he is going to do what it takes to try and get to a transplant.
I know we are nowhere near that yet but at work I'm already letting them know that if the chance and time comes I won't think twice about
leaving. My position is pretty tough and not easily replaced so I want to be honest. Fmla is of course an option but I don't want to leave them in a bind either.
But one step at a time...that is one problem I HOPE I encounter!

Glad you have a bit of a breather as you get your Dad dual listed. I think you have a good family support system, which really helps at this stage. Thanks for the update. Big Hugs

TM,
In response to your other post, nothing changed but I think he is just going through a moment of negativity. I just want to get him out of that mind frame.
As an update however, I heard back from Iowa today and Loyola did help me out and we are now all set for a visit to have the Transplant evaluation! It was good news for the day.
