Off Topic - I know something that might take your mind off your IBS!

Tune into ER tonight, at 10 pm. George Clooney will reprise his once very popular role as Doug Ross!!! Now if that's not enough to say - IBS? What IBS? LOL - for the original McDreamy to prescribe what ails you, then I don't know what is.......I know my IBS will fade for an hour. LOL

Tonight's episode was supposed to be ER's series finale. So it should be an excellent episode. The finale is now April 2. Yes after an impressive 15 year ER is ending. Some people say - it's still on the air? Some who have never stopped watching - me - know what a great show this has been though. Although the cast has changed over the years, the top notch writing never has.

Several former beloved characters return tonight - Benton, Ross, Hathaway. Carter came back 2 episodes ago.

So if you're looking for something to watch on TV tonight and once was an ER fan, don't miss it.

You're welcome. Can't wait, I'm going to watch it live but I'm also recording it on our DVR and an old VCR to save for my daughter who's away at college. Her dad is always erasing our recordings on the DVR, to save space. LOL

I haven't been this excited about ER in a long time. But at the same time, a little sad. I will miss this show.

It is one of the best things on TV. I think NBC is just now realizing this. LOL

That 10 pm NBC drama timeslot will soon be history. An historic television new day is coming. Remember back to how strong LA Law was in that timeslot, not to forget St. Elsewhere. Fuzzy on when Hill Street Blues aired - 10 pm? Anyway, ER will be the last Thursday night drama to hold that spot. Kinda sad really.

I watched. Thought it was a very good episode. Didn't quite feel like a series finale though to me. From all I have read the April 2nd finale will be great. Many more beloved former characters will surface, not sure if they'll be included in storylines as we saw last night (which made sense, all 3 times, not hurriedly fitted in to include Clooney and Julianna. LaSalle was slated to appear all along).

One thing ER has done is take a popular character and then change them. It happened to Abby. The night of her meltdown (trying to get Joe and herself to the airport, to see Luka in Croatia after having just slept with another man, her superior at work no less), I cried and cried. Almost as much as the night Mark tried to save the young mother's life in Love's Labor Lost. Mostly I was sad that the writers would railroad Abby's character like this! They seem to be doing it to Neelah, to a much greater extent though. Why they've paired her up with so many men is beyond me, it's been a revolving door at times, similar to Doug Ross' foray into his womanizing ways. LOL I wanted her with Ray at one time, then began to like this Australian doc. Then I realize she never talks about Michael! Her late husband! Then I realize this as well - why does Neelah have to be with anyone? Why can't she just focus on her career right now?

But anyway, thought it was a good episode. Watch it. There's one scene with Ross that is classic, when he's talking with the character Sarandon played. You'll know the one. The story took a shift at that point and reminded me of many early Doug Ross scenes. The writers wrote Doug Ross in such a believable way, when he was dealing with families of his patients.

Since this ties in with my original post.....

ER's series finale airs tonight, from 9 to 11 pm.

At 8, they're airing a special retrospective on ER.

That's 3 full hours of ER!

Not to mention, NBC's Extra at 7:30 is honoring ER as well.

So all total, that's 3.5 hours of ER tonight.

IBS? What IBS? LOL!

I just read on another message board that NBC is re-airing the finale, this Saturday night. I'll try and confirm that for you!

It was a great finale. If anything, it wasn't over the top, it wasn't a disappointment either. It was just simply the ER so many fans have come to know and love all these years. Going out as it came in - multiple traumas, a busy, urban ER treating patients. Which as it should be, IMHO!

*EDIT* The finale re-airs this Saturday night from 8 to 10 p.m. NBC is not re-airing the one hour retrospective that aired before the finale tonight (note, if you're a long time ER fan, you'll want to see this, check hulu or NBC tomorrow, I think you can watch episodes 24 hours after they've aired).
