Not sure if I should post this in this section but going to try anyway.

So I just noticed this today because the past few days I noticed a tiny hard bb-sized ball on the back side of my sphincter on the inside of my anus, which feels just like a hemorrhoid that is about to be gone after a big swell up. I have been keeping an eye on it and today in the shower I was washing and slipped my finger inside my anus to feel around. I felt this little ball.

It is right on the inside of the anus, not too deep. I'd say my pointer finger was nail deep inside and my finger was pushed right against the lump, which I guess is beneath the skin and not protruding? Although that could be wrong because it's hard to tell with it being inside me. I don't know how to differentiate hard and soft lump so let's say hard? I was also able to move it around a bit. i have preparation H so I put some on my finger and applied it inside my anus and was moving it around a little. It sits right inside my anus along my sphincter and I can move it around like I said and bring it outside of the anus so it's protruding, although certainly too small for me to see myself in a mirror or something. Like I said it feels hard when i squeeze it between my fingers. It does not hurt but when I have my finger slid just into my anus, if I push up against the backside of my sphincter where the mass sits, the sphincter hurts a bit. I am very worried that it could be cancer or something serious but hoping it is just an internal hemorrhoid? Would love some insight!

Oh also I had a bowel movement earlier today and did not notice any blood, but wasn't really looking anyway. Although I'd say a week ago I had a bowel movement that was bloody. For the record I only have one bowel movement every 2-3 days. Always have. My anus was also very itchy earlier this week one night, but since then it's been fine.

It could be hems or something else. It's hard to say which is why you should go to the doctor to see what it is. If it's nothing major then at least you will have peace of mind.

I just moved to NYC what kind of doctor should I see about it since I no longer have my go-to GP.

I guess what I am hoping is that I provided enough info to (hopefully) rule out rectal cancer. I think I am being very paranoid especially because I am sick right now and just got a stomach ache which I read as two symptoms of colorectal cancer -.-

Also, this lump/mass is under the skin, or at least I feel like it must be since I can move it around.

And in theory if it was some kind of cancer wouldn't the little mass grow over time so I just need to keep an eye on it?

The doctor you want to see is either a gastroenterologist or a proctologist.

And no, you shouldn't do the wait and see approach. If this is something that is not normal, then you go in to be seen.

is it okay if i wait a week while using prep h that i have on it to see if it goes away?

it's actually a lot closer to being external than I thought. It's like right on the inside of the sphincter and like I said I can slide it so it's protruding or push it back in.

I think this is what i have felt for a long time actually when i have a BM. I sometimes would feel like something is hanging out and when i flex my anus I could feel/hear it "slurp" back up inside me. Sorry if that is gross, hopefully it makes sense

if it was a hemorrhoid wouldn't it be bigger like pea-sized and wouldnt it not move around? This one I noticed today sits now just protruding outside of my sphincter I think (it was when I checked it) or maybe right inside. Still Bb-sized or smaller and I can push it in or bring it out and it seems as though it's under the skin. I thought maybe it's a skin tag but I don't think a skin tag would feel like this and feel underneath the skin. It kinda just feels like a hard blood ball or something, i want to just take a knife and cut it out lol

maybe it's how I sit as well...I spend most of my days sitting in bed when i am not in class. So The pressure of my upper body is kind of in my tail bone area/on the backside of my butt which is kind of where this thing is, on the back side of my anus at the sphincter.

Had a BM today and during it there was a particularly hard/solid portion of it. and as it was moving I kind of felt like it was moving over a bump or lump maybe a few inches before coming out, so a few inches inside. It didn't really hurt, maybe a little. But I could feel the presence. After I showered and put my finger up there 2-3 inches and did not really feel anything. Maybe it was up farther or deeper in the tissue. Any ideas if this is a sign of anything bad?

Is this post I'm replying to still open for thought? I noticed 2 years old. I have same thing. How old are you and do you know more since this post? Will wait for learntolift to answer in case you are no longer here

Rayzy, I clicked on learntolift's name & this member has not been here in a little over two years. You are right, it is an older thread. If you are having similar issues, please go to the dr & have yourself checked.
