Hi all. I have what I think are the "classic symptoms of gallbladder troubles. Getting scanned soon. My question is, as well as right upper abdomen, right upper back, right shoulder, pain, I have also got what feels like cramping around my tummy, colicky cramping, very intense sometimes. It's around the waist area. Does this sound like a gallbladder symptom? The symptoms can be very confusing. I have all of this as well as nausea on and off. Mostly on at the moment. Any replies would be very much appreciated.

GB symptoms can be pretty individualized to some extent.

Step 1 get an ultrasound to check for stones/inflamation

If you still suspect GB, request s Hida scan for functioning

Thank you Hoshie. Yes I am getting scanned Monday. I have had a scan 2 years ago . Nothing there then. I agree, symptoms can differ from person to person. It's so confusing. And what makes it more complicated is that in between the "bad" pain, I feel ok apart from mild cramping in stomach after I eat.

Are you getting a HIDA scan? That tells you your ejection fraction (EF) time to eject bile from the gallbladder.

As for me I have a low EF, and when I eat fat combined with sugar, I get the liver/GB pain (below the right ribs, front and back). I used to get nausea every night from it, until I realized the problem.

Eating a high-fat, low carb diet has helped with the nausea and some of the other symptoms.
I believe taurine and correcting methylation helps a lot with reversing a lot of the gb problems. how old are you btw? I'm assuming you're a girl (scotgirl seems to give it away).

Thanks for the reply monowav.Yes my gp said I will have the HIDA if the ultrasound doesn't show anything, which I strongly suspect it won't. I am a 61 year old female . I am quite fit and active for my age. But have had a lot of digestive issues over the years. I will follow your advice.
