Can stress make IBS reappear?

I am a believer now. I first came down with IBS when I lost my wonderful husband, moved and stopped my career. Had it calmed down until I underwent a pharmaceutical heart stress test. Not a fun thing plus I have no driver, etc. NOW it came back but am hoping to calm it down again.
