Kidney and/or Liver problems

Hi. I am a 28 year old, female. I have had back pain around kidney area for a few months and went to docs. She examined me and said my right kidney was inflammed. I was starting to et some pain right side under ribcage too. Mild dull ache type pain. Also still around side and back. Went back 2 weeks later and she examined again and said kidney had gone down but could still feel it. Sent me for an Ultrasound scan. I went on Wednesday. Thursday the results were back and doc surgery called me to make appointment. I made an appointment for 8days time as marked by doc as non urgent. But they want me to take a LFT liver functino blood test when I go. What does this mean? I am so worried now about liver disease and cirrhosis. If my liver was inflammed would doctor not have felt this at appontment as she said it was kidney? Would the ultrasound have to have showed liver problems for a LFT to be done or could this be routine? If you have gall stones would a doctor check your liver function?

If anyone can help i would be really grateful. I am so worried.
