The normal rule of thumb for most people for cold/sinus issues is 5 days and if it's not better see a Dr. With Lupus, it's important that we stick to that rule no matter what else is going on. If the throat continues to irritate and the sinus issues worsen, after 4 days see the Dr the 5th day.
I waited a bit longer on what seemed to be a really mild sinus-like cold-like thing, and it turned into bronchitis without me noticing anything more than fevers & extra fatgiue. You don't want that to happen!
Your meds are designed to quiet the immune system, since with Lupus it is overactive. So when something really is going on, symptoms are masked/muted somewhat and can be overlooked. It's a fine line sometimes, but the 4-5 day rule is a good one -- if not getting noticeably better, see Dr.
