My doc has sent my blood to the vet doing this research. Still waiting as animals have first dibs!! Doc said the results will take months.

20% of my doctor's patients are testing positive with the new testing method.

My doctor also got a grant with this vet to validate the new test for human diagnosis.

Crazy stuff...

My uneducated guess is that it would not show up on available Bartonella tests, and that it needs to be tested for separately. Just as it is possible there are other strains of Babesiosis that there are no testing for at this time.
