Men I need your help! 10 yr old son urinary problems

So my son is 10 and he is being tested for lyme. In the mean time he is
taking the supplement Juice Plus and he started a detox for the bowel,
kidneys and lymphatic system. Here is the link to the one he is taking

So he just started complaining of the need to urinate but he can't. I
am thinking urinary urgency. He just started all of this detox stuff
last Friday while we are waiting for his test results. He also says
when he sits it feels more like he has to go then when he doesn't. I am
thinking maybe his prostate is swollen? I know nothing about men and
probs like this. I just looked it up online.

Could this be a herx or detoxing? He is on an antibiotic right now for
his ear infection.

Have you called the doctor prescribing the supplements?  If this was happening to me, I'd go see a doctor to be safe, assumming your son isn't passing normal amounts of urine a day.  You may also want to try measuring his daily content to make sure he's passing atleast 2-2.5 liters a day...the norm.

Not a male - but sometimes bartonella can cause urinary tract discomfort without testing positive for infection. When I did not know I had bart, certain herbs caused this discomfort which became very intolerable. I had the urge to go much of the time and I later had pain in my bladder. I would get your son to an LLMD rather than a conventional doctor or a homeopathic doctor. When I started treatment for bartonella with Levaquin, this urge went away.
When I started treatment with lyme my herxing was much more severe and part of it was not being able to release. It was as if everything, bowels included, just quit working. Some herbs have side effects which can be very irritating to the kidneys (powerful diuretics) so I would be careful with "cleanses" etc. Again I recommend a LLMD.
The antibiotic he is on for his ear infection is probably not strong enough to be effective against lyme. If the ear infection is lyme related, taking a low dose can just kill off the weak bacteria, leaving the more resistant ones to take over and make future treatment harder. These bacteria are deadly and require aggressive treatment, the earlier the better. A LLMD would not rely completely on tests to confirm diagnosis as the tests are unreliable. In fact, if your son has lyme it is diagnostic to give a round of antibiotics to see if there is a herx reaction. The abx he is taking might be to blame ( in a good way) but he would probably have other symptoms worsen as well, such as more fatigue, more body pain etc. And the abx would have to be one that actually is effective against the lyme bacteria (or co-infections) and not just the bacteria presumed to be causing his ear infection.
