I was bout on a valtrex and my legs seem alot better and i dont no why.

Dear Kendall, I have NO idea.

I googled valtex and see it's used to treat cold sores I think!

Everyone has the virus -- stress triggers it.

So, I guess the next time we get cold sores, should we ask for valtrex to treat it and hope Lyme goes away?

Maybe you stumbled on the cure?

Ticks don't give you viruses, but they can give you co-infections like Bartonella and Babesiosis. The reason you get viruses is because Lyme Disease surpresses your immune system. When your immune system doesn't work right, your body picks up these nasty viruses.

What virus did you have? Was it HHV6? If so, that is a viral herpes and it needs to be treated with valtrex. Itcan cause you to feel like you have the flu really bad. This is not a herpes that you get on your lip or at the bottom area.

I had 4 viruses. I had Epstein Barr, Cytomegalovirus, HHV6, and the simple fever blister virus.

Here are a few I heard of: FSME - a tick borne encephalitis (which belongs to the Flavi virus group) - I do not know if this one is really only in Europe and Asia. Another is the CTFV (Colorado Tick Fever Virus) from the Arbovirus family. Then there is the Powassan - Virus, another tick-borne encephalitis (in the States and Canada); I have read somewhere that the Powassann virus is already called the deer tick virus.
I heard rumors about Hepatitis but I found no proof for that so far.

A whole bunch of other ugly tick borne virus diseases are found around the globe - if you want to have a sleepless night you may google (I suggest better not do this if you are not a person who traveled a lot, got bitten and then got ill....)

dorit - I know! If you dig deep enough, you can find some really (ewww) gross gross stuff out there. Scary!

Valtrex (for some reason) has always helped me. One of my next 'options ' (haha) is Valtrice which they give to AIDS patients and other people with severely compromised immune systems.
