Lyme and new Dx of type 1.5 diabetes

I was diagnosed and started tx for Lyme in February. I got my tick bite in '06. I'd been having symptoms of hypoglycemia, so my LLMD sent me for a 2 hour glucose test. To my surprise the test showed I was prediabetic. At 2 hours, my reading was 9.9 mmol/L. I'm 30, and normal weight. My LLMD says he doesn't think it's related, so I consulted 2 other doctors. Both say it is possible because type 1 and 1.5 can be triggered by a virus or infection. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this with Lyme. I'm trying to make sense of this.

Well, I have been really ill since 12/06, and just in the past 5 months has my suagr been out of whack. Just did another test to confirm, insulin resistance, so I am going to be place don some oral meds for the sugar.

I believe in my case, it has alot to do with being inactive due to feeling like crap!

Ask your doctors about using chromium and/or alpha lipoic acid and/or cinnamon herb extract for blood sugar control/insulin resistance.

What's diabetes 1.5???

Type 1.5 used to be called double diabetes. Basically it is type 1 which is an autoimmune disease, but can take years to become insulin dependant. It's usually seen in people over 30 with a normal BMI. I will definitely be asking my doctor for something to help me contol my blood glucose levels. It seems to be more out of control when I'm feeling really lymie. My levels were hovering in the high 14's when I had a fever. That is definitely diabetic levels.
