Endo appt this week- any tips?

I finally getting referred to an endocrinologist.
My thyroid levels have been coming up low for a while now.
I also have been experiencing hypoglycemic episodes. I have osteopenia, diagnosed when I was 36.
And my menstrual cycle has been out of whack for as long as I can remember. (This shell be an interesting appt!)

Anyway, I feel that Lyme has a part in all of this. I don't know how Lyme friendly the endo is.

DO any of you have good tips on how to get the most out of this appt?

From my one experience with an endo. I would NOT tell him you have Lyme and just let him figure out what is going on. I made the mistake of telling my endo. there was a possible Lyme diag. and he blamed everything on that and did very little testing. So, I would not bring it up so there is not chance of that happening.  Let him do all the testing and if eveything is normal you will know that LD is messing with your hormones, etc.  Just my 2 cents..   D

Eeekkss...well it is important for the Dr. to know what types of abx you are on. I guess I would list the abx and leave medical history (lyme) out of it.

I know they will ask you about the abx when they see it, and at that point I you would just have to briefly say you are being treated for Lyme.

Hi marriedtoLymeinNJ.  I am on my way out. but I wanted to quickly respond to your post. 

It is important to have the Free T3, Free T4 (besides the T3 and T4) and thyroid antibody tests done.  These are blood tests.  Many doctors do not run these and put too miuch emphasis on the TSH.   In my experience, seeing an endo for thyroid is the equivalent of seeing an infectious disease doctor for Lyme.  I have had more help from a general pracititioner.  Hopefully the endo you see will be a good one.  But if he/she is not, I can give you some suggestions.
