Swollen Lymph Nodes During Treatment

Hi everyone,

I have had a strange development and I wanted to get opinions.  I have a area on the inner aspect of my right arm, just above the bend of my elbow.  It is about an inch in diameter.  It is not red, nor hot, nor painful.  It appeared within 24 hours of me starting the Biaxin. (Which by the way seems to be helping somewhat.)  I am sure this is probably Lymph nodes.  Has anyone else developed any lymph node swelling during treatment?  Thanks in advance.

Did you look up side effect of Biaxin? It's been a while, but I don't think swollen lymph nodes is a side effect. They can be an effect of Lyme though. It could be that the infection is making them swell up, or the die off of the bacteria, thanks to the Biaxin, is making them temporarily swell.

Thanks for the response. I haven't seen where Biaxin causes anything like this as a side effect. My guess is a possible "back-up" from a die off. I am trying to detox like crazy.

The best thing for me is to just drink a TON of fluids and let my body flush it out naturally. I find that green tea works best. I probably drink 10-12 glasses of fluids a day, maybe more. I drink decaf iced and hot tea. Hope that helps.

This is one of my symtoms after starting treatment. I think it from the die off and toxin overload. Detoxing does help especially foot detoxing. I did the foot detox at thebeginning of treatment and my Lymph Nodes stopped hurting for a while. The swelling and pain is back again though and I haven't felt good enough to go back and do another foot detox.

You can make your own foot detox but I can't say how well it works because I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks CajunGrl, I will definitely look into it. I have been drinking huge amounts of water, taking milk thistle and using my infrared sauna daily. The bizarre thing is that it seems to only be above the bend in my elbow. And it is not hot or painful. I will just continue to detox and watch it. I hope you feel better soon.
