I keep my hair short, tho not supershort. But I can't keep up w/ it, it has been growing so fast! Same for my nails.
Anybody else?
Is this lyme related and if so, why would it be?

Hey +lyme, I have the same issue. I have to get my hair cut every 3 weeks. It grows fast, and thick. I also noticed that yesterday I was gettin ready to go to a concert and was going to paint my nails, and they are so long all of the sudden. I even said to my boy friend" wow why are my nails growing so well" Iam not sure why.

That is wierd. I wonder if it is from the meds. But I have been off mine for a month now, and my nails are long and just had to have my hair cut on Thursday

My nails have started growing fast too. I've never had hard nails like I do now. They always broke when they grew just a tiny little bit. Now, they get long and I have to cut them down.
I wish my hair would do the same. It's thinning at the top a little. I don't take my AG Pro like I'm supposed too, lol.
I still get my nails done when I do get out because I have ridges in my nails. Anyone else have this?

CG have you ever had the acrylic nails? of so they can cause the ridges. it happens to be one of the worst things you can put on your nails. i am lucky enough to have hard as bricks nails. but they come at a price too. as they do not break like most folks nails do.
i found this out the hard way. my ex's cuz does nails. and 1 day while placing my friends child in a car seat. i riped my nail midway down. it bleed like crazy. i called my ex cuz up.
she had me come right in and fixed it for me. to this day that nail has a ridge to it. and this happen about

Rd,
Yep, I use acrylic. I didn't know that! I wonder why it's just doing that now though? I've done my nails for years.
Btw, OUCH at ripping your nail like that. I've done that before and it hurts!

Hey All!
Same thing is happening to me! although I am NOT under any TBI 's tx & have not been under tx for almost 2 yrs now.
With that being said, my hair did not grow but enough to keep the length at just below my shoulders. But now... Now if my hair just grows another 4 in., it will then be longer than I have EVER been able to grow it!!!
Yeah, toenails too!!

I think it is all about
the nutrition. Lyme messes with absorption and utilization of nutrients eaten, so when treatment is given, the absorption likely improves, thus resulting in nails/hair that grow faster. My nails didn't grow much & I was losing my hair before getting all of my nutrition through my PICC/via IV...I think it was about
2-3 months into the IV nutrition, my nails started growing like crazy and my hair quit falling out & started growing back.
