8 days on antibiotics is nothing for this disease. As the Lyme dies, all the dead Lyme causes its own symptoms. No two days are the same with Lyme and its friends. Things hurt one day and not the next. But something else hurts instead. I have been dealing with Lyme for over 2 years. My daughter for over 10. And for me it is only in the last 4 months I have really felt better. Lyme can damage every cell in your body. From what I have read, many cells replenish themselves. about 1% of your red blood cells for example are replaced every day. Therefore, you have a whole new set every 100 days. Other types of cells replenish faster, others slower, and some not at all. Even if you could take a magic wand and eliminate the Lyme today, it would take months for your body to repair the damage. One of the reasons detoxing is so important. And keeping your body in an alkaline state. You have to give your body the tools it needs to repair itself. But this really can get better. Two years ago I went downhill so fast I eventually could barely walk. Could not go up and down stairs. Could not get up out of a chair. And this year I won a hula hoop contest! An impossible thing even 6 months ago. Bottom line, fighting this disease is not a sprint to the finish in a matter of days. For most, it is a marathon.
