Hi all!!
I'm pretty excited turn ,as I just ordered the book - "Insights Into Lyme Disease Treatment: 13 Lyme Literate Health Care Practitioners Share Healing Strategies"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I can no longer travel outside of a very small area any more, this book will allow a Non-lyme literate (but very understanding) doc of mine to treat me right here!!! yeah

Hopefully this will be my turning point with this insidious disease!!!

Oh good Razzle!
Maybe we could discuss a few things we find in the book here on HW from time to time?

Lord knows that I'm going to need as much input as I can get in order to understand things well enough to know if my doc is following things.

Not that I'm not slightly paranoid, but as many I'm sure have found out - we have to understand what is being done, or take the risk of not getting the right tx.

It's great that you have an open minded doctor that is willing to listen and work with you. They are hard to find. I hope the book helps you out and gives you all the info you need to get better. Good luck with everything and keep us updated.

Traveler- that is awesome news! I don't know anything about this book- is it actually written for the Dr? You'll have to give us a reivew. Maybe I'll send one to my old family practitioner...if I get the courage!

Hey Trav and Razz -- I hope you will discuss stuff in this book right here on the forum. I, as well as many others, are very anxious to hear what you learn and hope you can give us all good advice.

Mainly, if you feel that this book helps and benefits you and your treatments, I will certainly order one myself. Hey, this sounds exciting!

I finally watched the u-tube video from your sig. line - - I'm a huge fan of Carley Simon!
Although I never saw that meaning in the song before - NOW I do!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm one of those 'itsy-bitsies' she is singing about - I guess all of us are, 'cause that's what we do - climb back up again!

Yeah, I love Carly Simon!  I actually got to see her in concert on Long Island a long time ago and I was in heaven!  She doesn't do many concerts as she suffers from panic attacks..  Everyone has something.. 

Anyway, I'm excited too because I finally took the plunge and ordered a natural progesterone cream and I can't wait until it arrives for my peri-menopause (hopefully going into official menopause)... 

See what happens?  I get better from lyme and start menopause!  Well, I am at that age, can't take 10 years off of the natural cycle for women!  smhair

Okay Deejavu!! Now you're making me nervous about when I get past LD!! *giggle!* I've been without all of my female parts for quite a while now - and I have NO clue as to whether I've experienced meno or just LD!!!

We'll be happy to still go over whatever you may be interested in & I'm sure that a large print edition will come out soon! I would hope so - since so many of us have issues with our vision!! Personally, I would like to start a thread for discussing books - not arguing over - so that those who are in a financial situation can benefit from it as well.

The print size in the book is pretty big compared to other books on Lyme I've read, so maybe that plus reading glasses or magnifying glass would work?

Sorry you had to have your "parts" removed.  Anyway, I think you will know the difference between menopause and LD.  This is the difference in my case:

Lyme:  slept all the time and nothing could wake me up!

Meno:  wake up constantly during the night and wake up easily

Lyme:  didn't care what people thought or said

Meno:  ultra sensitive

Lyme:  had joint pains

Meno:  no joint pains

Lyme:  no bloating

Meno:  constant bloating!

Lyme:  no hot flashes

Meno:  quick hot flashes

Well, that's all I can think of right now..  I'm sure there's more!  It's really not so terrible to be honest.  Exercise helps very much and eating right except for the one and only one time I craved Ice Cream and Pickles!  I went out, bought it and ate it too!

thank you both, i like the ideal of doing a post on different books, for some of us who are not able to read them. believe it or not i used to read myself to sleep every night. and now it breaks my heart not to be able to read a book at all.

just to read the post in here i have to set my tex to 175% to 200%.

to use a magnifying glass i have to fucis on 1 word at a time as i have always had trouble on fucising, its in part due to being dyslixic. witch i am very badly. cant ya tell by my typing..LOL

anyways when i try to read i get the worst headaches one could amagin so i just gave it up :( even my mail i now have to get someone else to read it to me. this is what lyme has robbed me of the most for now.

pain i can live with kinda, but your eyes are the windows to the world.

sorry for the venting there. wishing everyone better health soon :)

Aw man, RD!!!
I only have some problems trying to read & that drives me nuts!!! And, I for one sure don't mind you venting a little!!!

I have always been a 'reader', love my books!!! Though I have had quite a few short episodes where my eyes bothered me too much, but nothing long term. My heart really goes out to you!!!

Oh!! I get my copy of this book on Mon or Tues of next week!!!
Is it possible that like memory issues, vision issues have a good chance of resolving with tx?

Discussing books would be so interesting. Then people would not waste the money on books not worth owning.
I have a few of those.
I went through peri-menopause for about 7 years. Bio-identical hormones are worth their weight in gold if you have bad side effects like I did - daily migraine, hot flashes every hour. . . I actually thought the lyme symptoms were just more of the same. I changed my hormones 6 times thinking they were somehow not working.

I went to amazon.com to look it up and read the first few pages plus the table of contents and index. That book looks amazing. It has everything in it. I ordered it too. Thanks for telling us about it. I am so excited to read it!

I went to my gp today and he said once I got the book, he will go over it & do his best to treat me with the info in the book!!!!!!
yeah smilewinkgrin time for the happy dance!!!! turn yeah

I know he will follow through & do his best as he has 'pledged' to help me "through all of this", as he put it!!!
