I am lyme positive and miserable. My son was tested and had some positive bands but they rule it negative because of which bands showed up. Doc would not treat him. If I am positive and he has some positive bands, wouldn't you think treatment would be prudent? I am so frustrated I could just cry.

That is so horrible!!! You & your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Are they willing to test him again in a few weeks if he continues to have symptoms? I get so frustrated for those of you that don't have knowledgeable Docs close by.

None nearby Cajun. 4 hrs away is the closest and a initial exam fee if $700(no insurance accepted)
I am so upset. I have been treated with doxy. Week 16 and I still feel like dirt. My son won't get treatment at all. Makes me ill.

Who told you about this doctor? Was it Ticker? I'm wondering if there is anyone closer.

Sorry for all the questions but how much Doxy are you taking a day?

You may need to try to find an LLMD. Maybe there is one that is further away but takes insurance? I know the drive is terrible but Lyme Disease gets worse and it is definitely worth the drive for you and your sons sake.

Btw, I drive 12 hours one way to see my LLMD but he is great and takes my insurance. It's so worth it to be in good hands when dealing with this devastating disease.

Have you thought of going the alternate route for treatment? I am being treated solely with the Zhang herbs at this point and they made me feel way better than antibiotics ever did.

Momtomonsters...could you try to find just a different regular doctor in your area? One who will treat your son? I think it is worth a shot! But, like CG said, if at all possible, drive the distance to see a dr who does take your insurance and will treat your son! That is ridiculous..I am so sorry:(
