has anyone tried hyperbaric oxygen or heard anything about it

I have done 40 one-hour treatments with HBO. I honestly did not see much of an improvement. I think my skin and hair felt healthier but definately not worth the $6,000.00 it cost me. It is really useful for healing stubborn wounds in diabetics, etc. but I think you would have to do much more to notice an improvement in Lyme symptoms. Honestly,  sauna was much more helpful to me.  Of course, everyone is different so I do not intend to discourage you. D

HBOT is not recommended if one has mercury issues.

HBOT uses a pressure chamber. You go into the chamber and are sealed in, and then the pressure is slowly changed. You stay in it for a certain amount of time at a specific pressure, then the pressure is slowly changed back to normal before you can exit the chamber. At least, this is my understanding of how HBOT works...

The purpose of this is to force oxygen into the cells and tissues of the body. Since we know Lyme doesn't like high-oxygen environments, anything we can do to increase oxygenation of the body should help in our battle against this nasty bug.

Also, one caution about HBOT is to make sure you are taking antioxidant supplements - if one is deficient in antioxidants, the HBOT procedure generates a lot of oxygen free radicals and may cause problems.

Razzle: Interesting about the mercury and HBO. I have very high mercury, no one even as much as asked me about it. This is the first I had heard of this, maybe that is why it did not help me much. D

Razzle can you post the explaination of the magnesium debate. I thought that was very important.
