Urgh. Shortage of Ceftin, and I forgot my good probiotics!

Just need to vent. I am visiting my parents for a week. Unfortunately, there is a (Canada wide?) shortage of Ceftin, and so I won't get it until at least 2 weeks from now, which is two weeks after my current batch runs out. To top it off, I forgot my good probiotics. I have trouble finding good probiotics- I actually get mine mailed to me. Do you think I'd be ok just taking massive doses of a drug-store brand (like acidophiles) for a week? I'll stay off sugar and gluten...

I think PB-8 works pretty well too. It's kept at room temperature and it worked for me when I ran out of my good refrigerated probiotics. I think you can get this at any health food store as well. Walmart might even carry it if you have one there.

if you are looking for probiotics, acidophillus would work, but strongly recommend looking into ESSENTIAL FORMULA. i am on ceftin and i take essential formula, and i have refills of ceftin at the drug store, i'll just check with them if they have it, still away from my dose going out since i only take 2 a day now. was supposed to take 4, but body can't keep up with that heavy dose.

If you were around, I could share some of my meds, cuz i think america pharmacy around ny/nj area has guaranteed supply of ceftin. best way to kill yeast infection is to starve it from yeast. but easier said than done.

yeah shortage of ceftin don't make sense anywhere. especially since its so well tolerated by patients and used for almost anything that needs abx. infact there are many different generic versions of this drug.

check in canada may be its got a different name.
