Looking for web site to help educate non-believing chiropractor about Lyme Disease

So, I finally managed to get to a chiropractor.  This was no easy task since it's difficult for me most days just to get from the bed to the couch.  I specifically stated before my appointment what my issues were and that I was being treated by a llmd for late stage chronic lyme.  I believe she has the potential to help me, agree with much of what she said and the location can't be beat which is a major factor for me right now.  The problem is that she does not understand what treatment entails and tried several times to discredit my llmd and said I need to get off antibiotics because candida is my main problem. 

How would you deal with this?  I'm not strong enough to educate her or change her mind and she seems to be very set in her beliefs. 

I do not do too well with oral communication these days and would appreciate it if anyone could suggest a site I could forward to her....something straight-forward that will get her attention and possibly sway her so that I do not have yet another battle on my hands...lol.

Dr. Jernigan is a Chiropractor. Maybe if she's willing to look at his website she'll be open to learning more about this disease. However, from my experience with doctors, and other healthcare people who don't believe in Lyme, or the way Lyme is treated, they're pretty much set in their ways and it's usually a waste of time to even try to change their views. However, if you feel she's open to learning, I'd recommend she read the Hansa Center website as it's full of great information about Lyme and other chronic diseases.

By the way, other than telling you to get off abx, how does she plan to treat your candida?

P.S. It might be good if she'd read this article to help her to understand why Lyme patients suffer so much. It's because of toxins, not the actual disease itself. This is also written by a Chiropractor, Dr. Jernigan:

Gary, Thanks for the info and advice. I'm glad Jernigan's protocol is working so well for you and wish I was in a position to go to his clinic myself. To be honest, I can't even remember what the chiropractor said about how she will treat the candida...have major brain fog...lol! She did mention toxins and stressed the need to detox which is what I did like about her. I did not like that she tried to discredit my llmd and told me I needed to get off antibiotics...ugh!

Gary, Does Jernigan ever prescribe antibiotics?

You know it's funny, if someone else dealing with chronic lyme or an integrative doctor with success in treating LD suggested I consider stopping antibiotics I would not react the same way. Actually, I plan on starting a herbal protocol shortly at the suggestion of my llmd who also believes in the holistic approach along with antibiotics when necessary. It just bugs me when someone from the medical community acts like they know everything about LD when in fact they do not have a clue...ugh! That's not to say this person is not a good chiropractor. Maybe I'm just trying to make the situation work because of the convenience and not wanting to start over again with looking for another chiro....finances are also a very big concern for me like it is for everyone else.

scorpio, you don't need to go to Hansa Center to get treatments. You can do as Deejavu did and do it at home. In fact, that's what I'm doing now. I don't need to go back to the Hansa Center. I can order the remedies from the http://www.jernigannutraceuticals.com/ website and do the detox baths and still get well. I plan to find a massage therapist and place that does foot detoxes and has infrared sauna too (hope to buy one eventually). If you follow the protocol in the book and do the other therapies I mentioned there's no reason to go to the Center.

No, Dr. Jernigan does not prescribe abx. He only uses natural medicines for treating people. He, like some other LLND's, and ever Dr. Cowden, don't believe that abx get you healed in the long run. I tend to agree with them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-abx, but I don't personally think it's the best route to go for treating this disease. The risks of long term abx is well documented and it messes up your gut and some people never recover from the damage it does to their guts.

Dr. Jernigan uses total natural medicines, many in which he invented himself. If you take his remedies, do the detox baths and other protocols listed in the book, I believe you (or anyone for that matter) can get better. Denise is a good example of that and I'm well on my way.

I hope things work out with your new chiropractor. She should consider looking at http://www.jernigannutraceuticals.com/ detox products and treat you with those as they are gentle and don't give you a bad herx like you get with abx. Check out the Antitox-Neuro ll formulas. I've used two different formulas so far and pretty much have gotten all of the ammonia out of my brain from using them. Many LLMD's and LLND's are using these remedies for their patients and getting good results.

Does your chiropractor do muscle testing? I sure hope it works out for you with you chiropractor, if not, you might look for another one.

Hey Gary, Thanks again for taking the time to respond in such detail. I forgot that I had tried Jernigen's Antitox CNS formula for a few weeks to a month while on iv's and still have 1-1/2 bottles left. It didn't help at all but I do plan on trying it again.

I haven't had much success with antibiotics although the iv's (rocephin & doxy) did clear up all body and joint pain while I was on them and for a short while afterwards. The fatigue, neuro issues and sensitivities (allergy like) haven't budged much although they do vary wax and wane and are slightly better at times. My llmd is very familiar with and uses herbal protocols but he believed I needed an aggressive antibiotic protocol before starting the herbal. He briefly discussed Zhang and Cowden with me in the past and from what the PA told me I believe he is going to suggest that as the next step in treatment at my next appointment in a few weeks. I will check out the Hansa site more thoroughly and be prepared with information and questions before my next appointment with him.

I do believe what I need is a herbal protocol and not more antibiotics but as I mentioned earlier I just didn't like hearing it from someone who doesn't seem to know as much about LD...definitely no where near as much as those on this forum.

The chiropractor did do muscle testing and my llmd did also in a more limited way.
