This is strange, now I have positive results!

On my immunology tests I am negative in b burgdorferi under many other diseases. But today I got different test results from my doctor which come from Igenex and I am positive both for Igenex and CDC on IgM (bands 31,34, 39,41, 45 and 66) and positive only for Igenex on Igg (34 and 41). I really don't mind anymore since I already decided to take my medicines since I have not felt well, and I am positively not crazy, but I would like to understand the difference with an immunology test and the western blot. Does anyone know this? I am getting so confused!

Hi!  Your wb bands can tell you a lot.  The fact that you have positive IGM's (esp CDC) positive is all the answer you need.

By "Immunology test", do you mean IFA?  Do you mean an elisa?  Or a PCR?

There are many ways to test for lyme disease.  Some are more specific and reliable than others.  Many cause false negatives, because the germ is hard to isolate and identify.

I'm assuming that the immunology test may be like a CD57 test to test how your immune system is holding up. Sometimes these numbers can be in the normal range even if you have Lyme. The WB from Igenex is the only reliable test that I am aware of and the fact that it was CDC and Igenex + tells me that you have it. Please make sure you see a LLMD and treated properly.
